Show Rules

Show is held in accordance with
VBHSA ByLaws and VHSA Associate Rules

  • Six ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 6th placement in each class.
  • Championship and Reserve ribbons will be awarded in each division
  • Hard hats must be worn when mounted
  • Judge’s decision is final.
  • All dogs must be on a leash at all times.
  • Current negative Coggins must be left with the show secretary, to keep. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Entries must be paid at the time of entry or covered by an open check left with the secretary.
  • Cell phones must be on vibrate mode or turned off and are not permitted in the show ring.
  • Discourtesy to an official by any spectator, rider, trainer or groom will disqualify the horse(s) with which they are associated and all fees are forfeited.
  • Management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes and to interpret all questions and conditions in regards to or arising out of an incident at the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind.
  • All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by Management, and their decision is final.

Condition of Entry

Show Conditions...Participants who submit an entry form (signed or not) realize and accept the inherent risks of equine activities as outline in VA Code 32.2-6206. Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of Show Management but Show Management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Show, the Management, and the facility harmless for any loss or accident to his or her horse, horses, or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.

These precautions are subject to change as it evolves and the Governor issues new guidelines.

  • It is strongly suggested to enter online.
  • Social distancing should continue to be a priority at all times for anyone who is not fully vaccinated. This includes the secretary, gatekeeper and announcer areas.
  • It is still suggested trainers pick up show packets that will include rider show numbers and jump course at secretary stand day of show. A copy of their participating exhibitors' valid Coggins and any remaining entry fees should be provided when picking up show packet. Please allow only one person at the secretary stand at a time.
  • Masks are required of anyone, incuding spectators, who have not been given both vaccinations.
  • Your entry submission indicates you acknowledge the inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting and participating in this Horse Show you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and will comply with the VHSA, VBHSA, Show Facility and health regulatory requirements.
  • Do not hang around the barn or in the barn if you are not a boarder/student at the show facility, or do not have a stall rented.
  • Plese use the exterior portable in front parking area for your safety adn comfort.
  • Disinfectant spray is located in portable - please disinfect before and after use.
  • The inside restroom is closed to all guests.
  • We strongly suggest you bring your own hand sanitizer. Extra will be available near secretary table.
